Obituary of William R. Hooper

William Randolph Hooper, 53, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on August 27th at the Kennestone Hospital. Will was the son of Frank Cyrus Hooper and Joan Garey Hooper of Clinton, N.J. He was a graduate of Clinton Public School and a member of Boy Scout Troupe 119 (Union Township) where he eventually achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. As a child Will was a great help to his father in organizing and participating in both the Clinton Christmas Tree Bonfire Parties and the great Huck Finn Raft Races. He was also a graduate of North Hunterdon High School and recently chaired his 35th High School reunion. William graduated with an engineering degree from Clarkson University. He was working for Cornerstone Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee. He enjoyed oil painting, photography, hiking, robotics and automation. One of Will's great loves was driving his father's 1945 white Mac Fire Truck in local parades and events. He will be fondly remembered as Captain America in the annual Clinton Guild Christmas Parade. Will and his father found great joy in hiking and exploring. Together they backpacked in the Grand Tetons of Wyoming, the High Sierras of California, canoed the Yukon River in Canada, the Missouri River in Montana and explored various western canyons. Visitation for William Randolph Hooper will be at Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton, New Jersey on Friday September 4, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. A Church service will be held on Saturday September 5, 2015, at 10:00 am, at The Church of the Holy Spirit 3 Haytown Road, Lebanon, New Jersey.
