Obituary of James C. Woerner

James Charles Woerner August 21, 1946 - November 21, 2015 James Charles Woerner was born in East Orange, New Jersey, on August 21st, 1945. He was the only child of Helen Addison of Glasgow, Scotland, and James Fredrick Woerner of Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in the home on Eppert Street, the fourth generation of Woerners to live in the home that his great-grandfather helped to build. In Jim's teens the family moved to Springfield, New Jersey. Jim was a graduate of Gilmont Organ School in New York, Union County College, Rutgers University, and Overlook Hospital School for Nuclear Medicine in New Jersey. He worked as a nuclear medicine technician for Overlook Hospital before retirement. With his great love of classical music and organ pieces, Jim was an organist in numerous churches and he sang with the Summit Coral for many years. Jim's hobbies included building and flying radio controlled airplanes, photography and motorcycles. He loved smoking his pipe with a glass of good red wine, as his loving cat Aimee sat upon his lap. Jim leaves his loving wife of 27 years, Diane Gusa Woerner, and his stepson Adembesa Gusa and his family, wife Asiya, and grandchildren Layla and Adalo. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ on Tuesday November 24th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 25th at 10:00am at the funeral home, internment will follow at the Rosedale Cemetery in Orange NJ. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jim may be made to St. Hubert's North Branch Shelter, P.O. Box 5281, North Branch NJ 08876
