Obituary of Walter R. Smickle

Walter R. Smickle, Sr., age 87, of Flemington died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Lopatcong Care Center. Walter was born August 16, 1928 in Belvidere, NJ. He is the son of the late Raymond and the late Ethel (DeWitt) Smickle. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Post WWII occupation period, also he earned a bachelor degree from Lafayette College in 1952. Walter was a Hunterdon County resident most of his life and was employed by Riegle Paper Corporation, Bemis Bag, Tenneco Inc, and Johanna Farms Dairy. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years Juanita (Frey) of Flemington and two daughters and two sons. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 16 at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809, with Pastor Tracey Henry officiating. Friends and relatives may gather from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am at the funeral home. A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at the Buttzville Cemetery on Green Pond Road in Belvidere.
