Obituary of Virginia A. Ciszewski

Virginia Ann Ciszewski, 86-years-old, died on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Bristol Glen Nursing Home in Newton N.J. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, great love for her husband, William, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through a challenging year of declining health. Yet even throughout her own struggles, she reached out to others to provide love and comfort. Virginia (Ginny) was born on June 17, 1930 in Hoboken, NJ, the only child, to John and Alice Walsh. Ginny’s goal in life was to raise a large, loving family. After graduating from Weehawken High School and working as a secretary, she met her sweetheart, William (Bill) Ciszewski. The couple was married and raised their family in Fairview, N.J. Married for 63 years, Ginny and Bill raised their 8 dear children, William, John, Mary, Ed, Paul, Peter, Anne, and Therese. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Virginia faithfully cared for family and friends by providing a home based on unconditional love. A woman of faith and the heart of the Ciszewski family, Virginia shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. With a real zest for life, Ginny loved to dance, cook, sew, pray, chat with her friends, and play with her grandchildren. Ginny also went on to work for the Bergen Record Newspaper, became a legal secretary, and even started her own small business as a transcriber. She was most joyous when surrounded by family and friends. For the past nine years, Ginny lived with her husband, Bill, at Bristol Glen Nursing Home, where Ginny developed many wonderful friends and was known for her comforting presence.
