Obituary of Barbara A. Cicero

Barbara A, Cicero, long time resident of Bound Brook, current Stanton resident, died peacefully on August 24. Barbara was born in 1937 at Somerset Hospital. The same hospital where she worked as a nurse for over 40 years. She had a diverse nursing career that included maternity, eating disorders, women's trauma and psychiatric nursing. She was dedicated to her patients and profession. An avid sports fan, Barbara loved following Rutgers Football, the NJ Devils, Dale Earnhardt Sr & Jr., Bomber Hockey, and NY Giants. She was a diehard Yankee fan for many years, but recently changed her alliance to the NY Mets. She loved to watch the camaraderie of the NY Mets players (Yankee management, I hope you are reading this). Besides sports, her passions were her cats, crocheting and her family. Barbara was a member of the Stanton Reformed Church Prayer Shawl ministry. Barbara loved nature, flowers and all God creatures. Surviving are her daughters Sharon Cicero Portner of Pittstown and Karen Cicero Auld of Stanton, her beloved grandson Alexander Portner, brother Victor W. Shine Jr. of Greenville, PA, friend/ex-husband Frank Cicero of Bound Brook and her 4-Acre Wood fellow residents William Auld and Penelope Gallagher. She is predeceased by her brother Norman "Pogo" Shine and numerous beloved pets.
