Obituary of Bruce M. Jackson

Bruce Marshall Jackson, 69, of Washington Township, NJ, beloved husband of Marta A. Jackson, passed peacefully to Heaven on December 9, 2016. Bruce was senior men's footwear designer for Eastman Group in NYC, a Purple Heart Vietnam War veteran who served in the Army as a sergeant and a member of the L.R.R.P. Bruce was born in Bronx, NYC. He was the beloved son of Gloria Bremmer Jackson of Rutherford, NJ, and the late Joseph Sheldon Jackson, He was a loving brother to his identical twin, Terrance Jackson of Wind Gap, Pa., and sister, Gail Pavlich of Rutherford NJ. Bruce attended Belleville High School and graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Business and Marketing. Through his hard work, dedication, and creativity he ultimately became a leading shoe designer and a master in his trade, designing and traveling the world for over 30 years. Bruce and Marta jointly created a beautiful life for their greatest pride and joy, two beloved children, his daughter, Dr. Lauren Marie Jackson, Ph.D.of Naperville Il., and his son Ian Joseph Jackson, M.S. RMHCI of Fort Lauderdale , Florida. Bruce was a spiritual man, who lived his life in the image of Jesus Christ.Bruce's life mission was to do the next right thing and give to others. His favorite quote was, "You don't have to be sick to get better". Bruce did not let any challenge he had in life from taking away his smile and positive attitude. Through his long struggles in the end of his time on this earth, he smiled several times a day, always remained positive, and encouraged others to do the same. Bruce took advantage of life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Friends and family may gather on Tuesday December 13, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave, Washington, NJ 07882. Cremation will follow mass at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge NJ.
