We were very saddened to hear about George. He was quite a guy, and was great at sharing old stories of Pattenburg, including working on the Lehigh Valley Railroad as a young guy, and then meeting a pretty young girl, who remained to be the center of his life for almost 70 years. Betty & George have been a constant part of living here in Pattenburg. George was a dependable, hardworking guy, who always put his family first, and cherished his wife Betty. He always had a funny story to tell, and was lighthearted, but was having a tough time this past year when his health began to decline. I will always remember him as an honorable man, who served his country well, and remained to give back through the different groups he was a member of. He would talk about his faith openly, and always wanted to learn more about the Bible. I know George is looking down on us, and will never be too far away. Our loss, is now heaven's gain..His service at the Pattenburg Methodist Church, was a reflection of how many peoples lives were touched by knowing him. Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family at this time...Love, Marilyn & Kenny, Pattenburg, New Jersey
