Robert Reider, age 61, of North Plainfield, New Jersey passed away Sunday, November 4th, at St. Joseph's Vitas Hospice Care Center in Wayne, NJ.
Robert was born August 30 1957 and grew up in Berkeley Heights. He lived in Watchung and Warren before settling in the North Plainfield area. Robert is survived by his parents, Ann and Albert Reider of Easton PA, his three sisters and their spouses, Ann and Rob Preston of Union Township, Doris and John Mucha of West Chester PA, and Mary and Dennis Daly of Washington Township NJ, and his seven nephews and nieces, Robbie, Evan, Geoffrey, Olivia, Todd, Erin, and Ryan. Robert was also the loving nephew of the late Walter Reider of Melbourne, Florida.
Growing up next door to his seafaring Uncle Walter, Robert became an avid deep sea fisherman, who cherished weekend excursions fishing on his uncle's boat for bluefish, fluke, and tuna. Upon his return from the shore, he and Walter would prepare the day's catch. His love for fishing remained throughout his life as he would spend his free time with his fishing aficionados.
Robert worked as a truck driver for most of his adult years. He loved operating a truck and being on the road. He will be missed by his trucking associates and his many friends.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Wednesday, November 7, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. Thursday morning, a viewing will be held at Saint Catherine of Siena Parish Center, 142 Perryville Rd, Hampton, NJ at 10:15 am followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
