Obituary of Carol Jule Minick

Carol J. (nee Biel) Minick, age 79, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Born on November 24, 1945, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lisa (nee Arneson) Biel.

A North Hunterdon High School graduate, Carol married the love of her life, William Minick Jr, on April 20, 1968. Carol dedicated herself to being a homemaker and lovingly raised her two cherished children, William and Bonnie. She was also blessed with four grandchildren: Mitchell, Aslan, Hannah, and Will, who brought her immense joy and laughter.

A loving daughter and mother and grandmother, Carol’s generous spirit shone through in her volunteer work at Norton Church and Top of the Barn in Califon, NJ.

Carol's Norwegian heritage inspired her passion for travel and adventure, leading her to create cherished memories through her journeys to Ireland, Alaska, Mexico, and (of course) Long Beach Island, NJ, to name a few. Carol loved spending time outdoors at her longtime home on Berk Lane, manicuring a perfect yard and garden, and feeding and caring for animals that sometimes emerged from the fields behind her home, including stray cats and one wayward opossum. Additionally, Carol had a passion for hosting garage sales, hunting for unique antiques, and cataloguing distant relatives through detailed family-history albums. Above all, though, she treasured spending time with her family via vacations, hosting holiday gatherings, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and more.

Carol is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Lisa Biel; her beloved husband, William J. Minick Jr.; her brother, Joseph Biel; her sisters, Joanne O’Brien and Lisa Bronish; and her brother-in-law, Thomas O’Brien.

She will be deeply missed by her son, William Minick III and his wife Jessica; her daughter, Bonnie Beneszewski; her brother, Daniel Biel and his wife Karen; her sisters-in-law, Theresa Biel and Brenda Biel; brother-in-law, Bud Bronish; and her grandchildren, Mitchell Beneszewski, Aslan Beneszewski, Hannah Minick, and Will Minick.

Family and friends are invited to gather with Carol's family on Saturday, March 1^st, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a service of remembrance beginning at 3:00 pm.
