Obituary of Joseph Miceli

Joseph Miceli, aged 81, formerly of Annandale, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28th at the Delaney Care Facility in Bridgewater, NJ. Born on November 7, 1943, in Riberia, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Gioacchino Miceli and Gaetana (nee Riggi) Miceli.

Joseph graduated from Elizabeth High School and continued his education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Kean College. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a cherished high school math teacher in Middlesex, NJ, where he received both the Teacher of the Year Award and the Coach of the Year Award. Joseph married the love of his life, Nicolina, and together they raised a son, David, who meant the world to them. He was also blessed with three grandchildren and a loving daughter in law, who brought him great joy and comfort.

In his younger years, Joseph was an avid tennis player who relished a good match. He was a member of the Courtside Tennis Club for 20 years. Above all, Joseph cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories together. He will be deeply missed.

Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Nicolina Miceli, and his parents, Gioacchino and Gaetana Miceli; sister, Theresa Marabella

He is lovingly remembered by his son, David Miceli; daughter-in-law, Cindy Miceli; grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca, and Danielle; sister, Margie Miceli-Cardi; mother-in-law,  Maria Yanetta and sister in law Mary McCarthy and her family.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, March 30th from 2:00 until 5:00PM at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, March 31st at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale NJ 08801. Burial will follow mass in the church cemetery. Friends are invited after the burial to join the family at Beaver Brook Country Club, located at 25 Country Club Drive, Annandale NJ 08801.
