Obituary of Margaret Olsen Kessel

April 15, 1937 – April 15, 2025

Margaret Olsen Kessel, age 88, of Annandale, NJ, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Bethlehem, PA, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 15, 1937, in Somerville, NJ, Margaret was the daughter of the late Anthony and Malvina (née Miller) Sadorski. She was raised in Whitehouse Station and went on to make her home in the Annandale section of Clinton Township, where she lived for over 59 years, building a life centered around love, resilience, and family.

Margaret’s journey through life was marked by quiet strength and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was first married to Alfred Olsen Sr., who passed away in 1971. In 1974, she found love again and remarried George Kessel, with whom she shared many more years until his passing in 1993.

She was a devoted mother of four, and later, a loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret’s home was a warm gathering place, filled with the joyful sounds of family, the thrill of a winning BINGO card, and the comfort of her cherished cats curled up nearby. She had a passion for NASCAR, the New York Rangers and casino games, but nothing compared to the joy she found in her family, who were truly the center of her world.

Margaret is survived by her four beloved children: Lawrence Olsen; Raymond Olsen and his wife Aimee; Lisa Clees and her husband Fred; Holly Masenior and her husband Joshua; she was a proud and loving grandmother to Patrick Zavis and his wife Holly, Melissa Olsen, Aiden Keller and husband Seth, Patrick Querry and wife Kayla, Christopher Querry and spouse Abby Terese, Hayleigh Masenior, and Blake Masenior and step grandmother to Tammy Stonewall and her husband Jonathan. Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren: Koral, Hunter, Cove, Finn, Liam, Jackson and Ella.

She was preceded in death by her seven siblings, her husbands Alfred and George, and her son, Alfred Olsen Jr.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 18th at 9:30 AM at Mount Peace Cemetery, 102 Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801.
