Obituary of Patricia Ann Thompson

Patricia Ann Thompson passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 15t, 2025,at her home in Bethlehem Township, NJ. Patricia was born on June 6, 1947, to Margaret Mary Cavanaugh Thomas and Rene Armand Thomas in New Brunswick, NJ, and grew up in Sayreville along with her younger brother, Michael Thomas.
 
She married her devoted husband of 58 years, Neil Scott Thompson, in 1966 and they raised their 3 children in Jamesburg and Monroe before retiring from her property management business to Hunterdon County in 2005. 
 
Patty's creativity and independent spirit were expressed in many ways throughout her life. Trish to her parents, Patty to her friends and family, she was an avid photographer, and spent a lifetime of learning, traveling, gardening, exploring nature, cooking, and being the center of her loving family. With Neil, she led her family on adventures to such places as the American Southwest, Canada and Ireland, including a cross country road trip in a 1977 Ford Econoline van. Patty was the de facto archivist for her extended family. In a time before digital cameras, she meticulously captured moments big and small - snapshots of bygone days that are treasured by her family. Her Facebook page contains a photographic testament to over 100 years of family history. 
 
She leaves behind a son Michael (Pandora Kazeppis), a son Patrick (Amy Brummer), and a daughter Margret (Michael Smeraglia). Her grandchildren Morgan (Alexander Thompson), Mia, Liam, Jesse, Jackson, Very, and Boone, along with her great grandson Alexander, were her world. 
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to World Central Kitchenhttps://wck.org/donatean organization that reflects her lifetime quest to advocate for the downtrodden, for the marginalized, for the environment, and against unjust wars.
 
A celebration of life will take place in the coming weeks.
