Obituary of Ruth M Gronsky

March 23, 1944 – May 4, 2025

Ruth M. Gronsky, 81, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Somerville, NJ, on March 23, 1944, Ruth was the beloved daughter of Arthur A. Kraeuter and Inez Pearle (née Smithers) Kraeuter. A proud graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School, Class of 1962, Ruth pursued her passion for teaching at Clarion University, where she earned her degree in education in 1966. She went on to dedicate over four decades of her life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in the Clinton, Township and Bethlehem Township School Districts. Known for her warmth, patience, and creative spirit, Ruth left a lasting mark on generations of students.

On August 6, 1966, Ruth married the love of her life, Nickolas Gronsky. Their devoted marriage, filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support, spanned nearly 59 years. Together, they raised two children, Tanya and Nickolas, who were the light of Ruth’s life and her proudest legacy.

Ruth was a woman of many talents, particularly in the textile arts. A masterful quilter and needleworker, she was recognized with numerous awards and honors for her craftsmanship. She was a cherished member of the Courthouse Quilters from 1989 to 2024 and previously contributed her time and talents to the Clinton United Methodist Church Quilting Group from 2012 to 2024. Her generosity extended beyond her own work, as she also served as a 4-H leader from 1977 to 1985, inspiring creativity and confidence in countless young people.

A lover of quiet joys and lifelong learning, Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading, birdwatching, and exploring family genealogy. She found peace and wonder in nature, joy in travel, and deep fulfillment in the company of family and friends. Her gentle presence and kind heart touched everyone she met.

Ruth will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her artistic gifts, and the loving grace with which she lived her life. She leaves behind a legacy woven with care, commitment, and kindness—threads that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Inez "Pearle" Kraeuter; her mother-in-law, Matrona Gronsky; brothers-in-law Steve Gronsky (and his wife Jackie) and Mike Gronsky; and sister-in-law Virginia Hurford (and her husband Dave), and brother-in-law Robert Jancar.
