Obituary of Peter P. Monahan, Jr.

Peter “Pete” P. Monahan, Jr., of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on August 11, 1960, in the Bronx, NY, Pete was the beloved son of the late Peter P. Monahan, Sr. and Dorothea A. Monahan (née Mahoney). He was raised with strong values of integrity, humility, and dedication—principles that shaped both his personal life and professional journey.

Pete built a distinguished career in finance, serving as Assistant Vice President at AT&T in Bedminster, NJ. He was a Certified Management Accountant as well as a Certified Public Accountant. A dedicated and respected professional, he was a proud member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where he upheld the highest standards of his profession with integrity and excellence.

On August 11, 2018, Pete married the love of his life, Sharon, and together they shared a bond filled with love, partnership, and unwavering devotion.

Pete was a devoted father to his daughters, Katelyn and Kelly, and stepfather to Rachel. He found immense joy in spending time with his cherished grandson, Wally, whose presence brought endless smiles and laughter to his life. Above all, Pete treasured time with his family, 

A lover of classic rock, Pete enjoyed listening to music. In his down time, he could often be found relaxing at the beach, while watching sports, or attending concerts.

Pete is predeceased by his parents, Peter Sr. and Dorothea Monahan, and his brother, John.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his daughters, Katelyn and her partner George, and Kelly and her husband Joseph Croat; his stepdaughter, Rachel and her husband Zach Seitz; his grandson, Wally; his brother, Brian and his wife Sally; his sister, Maureen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Pete’s legacy is one of quiet strength, deep loyalty, and lasting love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.

Relatives and friends may visit with Pete’s family on May 15, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A funeral mass will be offered on May 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale NJ 08801.
