Obituary of Leonard N Yacullo, Sr.

Leonard Nicholas Yacullo, Sr., age 87, of Annandale, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Hunterdon Medical Center, with his beloved sons by his side.

Born on October 10, 1937, in Carbondale, PA, Leonard was the beloved son of the late Donato and Maria Iacullo. On August 7, 1965, he married the love of his life, Eileen, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and dedication as they raised their three sons: Leonard Jr., Michael, and Anthony.

Leonard was a research chemist for Shell and Exxon, a career he pursued with curiosity and precision until his retirement in 1993. Outside of work, Leonard lived a life rich in passions and pursuits. He was an avid gardener who took joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors. A talented cook, he found happiness in the kitchen, preparing meals that brought people together. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and rarely missed a game.

Leonard’s hobbies were as diverse as they were meaningful. He had a deep appreciation for nature, collecting fossils, rocks, and minerals, a passion he passed down to his family through craft and jewelry making. He was a skilled woodworker, a reliable handyman, and a regular video game player who delighted in trying new things. His love for animals was evident in his affection for all the family dogs over the years.

Above all, Leonard was a family man. He was immensely proud of his children’s accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with loved ones, His kindness and generosity made a lasting impression on all who knew him. He also treasured the enduring relationships he shared with his friends and neighbors—bonds that lasted decades

Leonard is survived by his loving sons, Leonard N. Yacullo, Jr., and Michael Yacullo and his wife, Kathy; his dear sister, Josephine Yacullo; and his daughter-in-law, Megan Yacullo.
