Obituary of Susan Marie Brewer

December 28, 1962 – October 4, 2025

Susan “Sue” Marie Brewer, 62, of South River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Hunterdon Medical Center, after complications due to lymphoma.

Born on December 28, 1962, in Summit, New Jersey, Sue was the beloved daughter of the late Harry F. Brewer and Margery M. Brewer. She grew up in Chatham Township and graduated from Chatham Township High School, Class of 1981.

For over 32 years, Sue was a dedicated member of the St. Peter’s University Hospital family, where she worked as a Scheduler in the Antenatal Testing Unit. Through her expertise and compassion, she helped countless women—many facing high-risk pregnancies—achieve their dreams of bringing healthy babies into the world. Her coworkers and patients alike will remember her not only as a professional of remarkable dedication, but also as a friend whose kindness, humor, and humility made every day brighter.

Outside of her work, Sue’s life was filled with simple joys and lifelong passions. She was an avid reader, finding peace and inspiration in the pages of her favorite books. A devoted fan of horse racing, Sue was a part-owner of several award-winning trotters and pacers that raced at Freehold Raceway and The Meadowlands during the 1980s—among them her favorites: Family Fun N, Scotch Notch A, Doyle, and Jasmarilla. Sue was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, known for cheering on her team through the good seasons and the rough ones

Sue will be lovingly remembered as a gentle, humble soul whose smile and good nature brought out the best in everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her brothers, Michael and his wife Carolyn, Richard, and Donald and his wife Misty; her sister, Beth White and her partner Marc Fenster; and her nephews, Eddie Brewer and Samuel Maiorano and his wife Natalie.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Harry F. and Margery M. Brewer.

Sue was entombed privately at the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale NJ. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held in July. Arrangements were under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton NJ. To send condolences to the cemetery please visit www.martinfh.com.

Those who knew Sue best will forever remember her as a woman of quiet strength, compassion, and warmth. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—through her work, her friendships, and the simple kindness that defined her every day.
