Obituary of Eileen Fehnel Mansfield

Eileen Fehnel Mansfield
August 5, 1948 – October 10, 2025

Eileen Fehnel Mansfield, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, on Friday, October 10th, 2025.

Born on August 5, 1948, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Eileen was the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Fehnel (née Kiefer). She married her high school sweetheart, William H. Mansfield, Jr., on June 6, 1970, and together they shared more than five decades of love and partnership until his passing in 2021. Throughout their marriage, they built a beautiful family and raised their two children, Elizabeth and William III.

Eileen graduated in 1970 from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Elementary Education. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Ramsey, New Jersey, where she inspired young minds with her gentle nature and passion for learning. Later, she transitioned into the corporate world, where she concluded her career with Foster Wheeler in Perryville, NJ.

For nearly 50 years, Eileen was a devoted and active member of Clinton Presbyterian Church, where her faith was a guiding force in her life. 

Eileen will be deeply missed by her daughter, Elizabeth T. Mansfield, her partner Lawrence Baxter, and their children Eleanor, Lilly, and Mason; her son, William H. Mansfield III, and his wife Elizabeth M. Mansfield (née Passe); her beloved grandchildren, Evelyn Mansfield and William H. Mansfield IV; and her sister Judith Trump (née Fehnel) and husband David, as well as her cherished niece and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 18th at the Clinton Prersbyterian Church, located at 91 Center Street, Clinton NJ 08809. Arrangements are under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton NJ.
