Obituary of Ann C. Reider
Ann C. Reider, 98, of Forks Township, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 21, 2025.
Born June 24, 1927, in Newark, NJ, Ann was the daughter of the late John and Anna Hurst, who immigrated from Germany. She grew up in Hillside, NJ, and graduated from Benedictine Academy before continuing her education at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas. Ann worked at The Mennen Company in Morristown as an interpreter/translation specialist before she began a family.
Ann married Albert Reider in 1952 and celebrated 70 years of marriage. Settling in Berkeley Heights, they raised their four children: Ann, Doris, Robert, and Mary. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, treasured time with her children and grandchildren as caregiver, loving cook and baker, and enthusiastic sports and musical performance spectator.
A woman of Catholic faith, Ann lived her life with grace and humility. She was deeply dedicated to her parish and found purpose in sharing the gift of music as Choir Director at the Church of the Little Flower in Berkeley Heights. She enjoyed liturgical music immensely and cherished friendships with choir members as well. Her music, faith, and gentle presence touched everyone who met her.
Ann will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughters, Doris Mucha and her husband John; Mary Daly and her husband, Dennis; her sister, Doris Heimall; her son-in-law,Robert Preston; and her grandchildren: Robbie Preston (Aimee), Todd Preston (Hannah), Evan Mucha (Rachelle), Geoff Mucha (Maggie), Olivia Krulikowski (Thomas), Erin Daly, and Ryan Daly. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Brooks and Logan Preston, Marian Mucha, Sylvia Mucha, and Emmett Mucha, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert, her daughter Ann Preston, and her son Robert Reider.
All services will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 28th, from 10:00–11:00 AM, Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, NJ.
