Obituary of Catherine Anne Owens

Catherine Anne Owens (née Devlin), beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love, in Washington, New Jersey, on Monday, December 8, 2025. She was 75. Born on July 17, 1950, in Philadelphia, Cathie was the daughter of the late William J. and Jean (Herr) Devlin.

Cathie was a longtime resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where she raised her family with her devoted husband of nearly 52 years, Michael, who preceded her in death just over nine months ago.

For more than 20 years, Cathie worked as a dedicated lab supervisor at Quest Diagnostics in Horsham, PA, where she cultivated many lasting friendships and cherished memories.

Cathie was famously known as the "hostess with the mostess." Alongside Mike, she loved entertaining friends and family, making their home the most welcoming and loving place. She had a gift for making everyone who crossed her threshold feel special and deeply loved. She was also blessed with many special friendships formed throughout her lifetime—many spanning over 50 years—that were cherished by her. In her quiet moments, she loved to read, and she treasured annual trips to Cape Cod with family and friends.

Above all else, Cathie's greatest joy was her family, especially her adoring grandchildren. She was the best Grammy/Mimi to her "grands," as she affectionately called them: Connor, Ella, Abigail, and Lily. She was a pillar of strength to her children and faced adversity with remarkable grace and dignity. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love, and all who knew her are better for having had her in our lives.

Cathie is survived by her loving children: daughter Hilary Kokoszka and her husband Michael, and son Michael Owens and his wife Christa; her four cherished grandchildren; her sister Regina Brennan and her husband Robert; her brother William Devlin and his wife Patricia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801.
