Obituary of Barbara G. Ward

Barbara G. (nee Hennis) Ward, age 73, of the Franklin Township section of Pittstown, NJ. Passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. She was born on November 11, 1949, in Jersey City, NJ, and was the daughter of the late James and the late Grace (née Hansen) Hennis.

Barbara was a graduate of Kearny High School. She married the love of her life, Douglas Ward, on October 14, 1978. Together they raised a loving daughter, Jennifer. 

Barbara had a 27 year career with AT&T as a security analyst, she retired in 2009. Barbara was a voracious reader, she enjoyed a good glass of her husband’s homemade beer and wine and was also a true crime enthusiast, especially Columbo.

Barbara will be forever cherished by her loving husband, Douglas Ward; daughter, Jennifer Renna and her husband Peter Renna; grandson, Nathan Renna; sister, Kathleen Hennis; brothers, Jimmy, Richard and Steven Hennis. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Grace Hennis.

Friends and relatives may visit with Barbara's family on Sunday, November 5th from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. Funeral service and words of remembrance will begin at 4:00pm in the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately.
