Obituary of Carmen F. DiSimoni

Carmen DiSimoni, 88, passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on Friday March 8, 2024. Carmen was born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1935, to loving parents, the late Louis and Josephine (nee Bochon) DiSimoni. He had two full-time professional careers.  Carmen was a teacher, coach, and school administrator at Passaic Valley Regional High School for 37 years and 12 years as a financial planner for MetLife. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, coach, colleague, and friend to many. 

 As a coach he was named Passaic County Coach of the Year in 1973, 1974 and 1975 accomplishments with which he had much pride, and he was inducted into the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1986 solidifying his legacy of hard work and winning.  Carmen is also in the North East Pennsylvania Basketball Hall of Fame as a player. An avid sports fan, Carmen also had a passion for baseball and was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan having the pleasure of watching them win the World Series in 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018. 

Carmen is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Barbara DiSimoni; sons James, Christopher, and Carmen DiSimoni and daughters Jill Hansen and Jennifer Bartell; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Carmen’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Hampton, New Jersey on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:00 am. All services will be held directly at church on Friday morning.
