Obituary of Robert John Hoffman

Robert John "Bob" Hoffman, age 74, of Tavernier, FL and Holgate, NJ, formerly of Lebanon Township, NJ passed peacefully at his daughters home on March 5, 2019. Robert was born February 17, 1945 in Elizabeth, NJ. He is the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Krutak) Hoffman.

A graduate of Watchung Hills High School, Bob enjoyed a thirty year career with Verizon. Upon retiring, he and his wife of fifty-two years, Carole Hoffman, enjoyed the winters in Tavernier, Florida and the summers at their family beach home on Long Beach Island. In retirement, Bob was an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Islamorada, FL and held the position of Commander for the past three years.

Surviving is his beloved wife: Carole (Apgar) Hoffman, two daughters: June Rivera and husband Roland of Stewartsville, NJ and Amy Rhinesmith and husband Jamie of Lebanon Township, NJ; two sons: Derek Hoffman of PA and Kurt Hoffman and wife Melissa of Pattenburg, NJ. He is also survived by his ten adoring grandchildren: Chase, Shane, Marley, Martael, Tucker, Kealey, Giada, Natasha, Lila, and Thomas

Relatives and friends may gather on March 11, 2019 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 State Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A funeral service will be held on March 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Spruce Run Lutheran Church, 442 W Hill Road, Glen Gardner NJ 08886. Cremation will be held privately following the funeral service.
