Obituary of Aurelia Rose Montrose
Aurelia Rose Montrose, age 89, of Hampton NJ, formerly a fifty year resident of Oakland NJ passed peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Country Arch Care Center in Union Township, NJ. Aurelia was born July 21, 1929 in Haledon, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Michael and the late Inez (Scaglia) Cracco. Her beloved husband, Charles Montrose predeceased her on November 10, 2017.
Aurelia was a graduate of Central High School in Paterson NJ, earning a scholarship to Montclair State College where she graduated with honors in education. After graduating college she married the love of her life Charles Montrose and the two would raise their family in Oakland NJ. Along with her husband, Aurelia would be a founding member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Oakland NJ.
Aurelia loved to knit and sew and was an avid reader. She and her husband loved to travel and they visited such places as Alaska, South America, Europe, The Holy Land and the Caribbean to name a few.
She is survived by one daughter: Maria Sakos and husband Chris of Hampton, NJ and two sons: Michael Montrose and wife Andrea of Maryland and Charles Montrose and wife Gail of NY; grandchildren; Michelle, James, Jonathan, Christopher, Vincent, Renee, Jessica, Charles and Veronica. Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Valerie, Maxwell, Lucy, Penelope, Parker, Audrey, Ada, Allyson, Zoey, Anthony, John and Everett
Relatives and friends may gather on Wednesday July 24, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at10:00 am on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at The Church of St. Ann, 6 Church Street, Hampton, NJ with Rev. Michael Saharic officiating.
