Rosalie Leyesa

Obituary of Rosalie Leyesa

Rosalie Leyesa was born on July 15, 1948, in Lipa City, Batangas, in the Philippines. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. At the young age of 13, Rosalie lost her father but found comfort in her close relationship with God. She studied nursing and worked hard alongside her mother to help raise her 8 younger siblings.

In 1971, Rosalie moved to the US and worked as a nurse in NJ. Although she was a single parent, she sent money to her mother and siblings every chance she had to help support them. Through her sacrifices, she was able to help six of her siblings and her mom to immigrate to the USA. Her joys in life were attending mass, playing music, travel and spending time with her family and friends.  Rosalie was a selfless and generous individual who always put the needs of others first.

As a devout Roman Catholic, it was fitting that she joined the Carmelite sisters dedicating her life to Jesus. Rosalie valued education, especially in music. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, and watching movies and musicals with her grandchildren. Her humor, contagious laughter, bright smile, and kind spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Rosalie is survived by her son Christopher, daughter-in-law Michelle, grandchildren Niko, Nolan, and Juliet, her siblings Ferdinand, Arsenio, Nenita, Napoleon, George, Marlon, Leonardo, and Noralyn, and her nephews and nieces.
