Obituary of Jack O'Brien
John S. O'Brien, age 81, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his home in Bridgewater, NJ. Jack was born and raised in Woodhaven Queens, NY and had been living in Bridgewater for the past 50 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean war, where he served with the military police.
Jack was the founder of the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse since 1981, where he was in partnership with his nephew, Richard Schulman.
Jack's life was the theater. He directed all the shows at the Playhouse and touched many lives through his years in the theater. He was loved by many and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife Millie, his children, Kathy and John; his grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Katie, Keith, Jennifer and Brandon and his sister: Jacqueline.
There will be a Memorial gathering on Wednesday, June 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm in the Atrium of the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, 88 Route 173 W, (Perryville), Hampton, NJ. There will be a brief service around 7:30 pm.
On Sunday, July 27, 2014, there will be a Celebration of Jack's Life also at the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse beginning at 3:00pm.
The family requests no flowers. Those who wish, may make a donation in Jack's memory to a cancer charity of your choice.
