Obituary of Robert J. Arnold

Robert J. Arnold, age 80, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at home. Mr. Arnold was born January 16, 1934 in Newark, NJ. He was the son of the late George and the late Helen (Schaffer) Arnold. He was raised in Irvington, NJ but was a longtime resident of Bethlehem Twp., NJ. Mr. Arnold was a retired corrections officer at the Mountain View Correctional Facility and the Hunterdon County Jail. He also formerly owned and operated Warren Auto Wreckers in Warrenville, NJ. Most importantly, he cherished his days working on his farm raising livestock and spending family time outdoors. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV riding, camping and gold prospecting. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Survivors include his sons, Robert J. Arnold Jr. & his girlfriend, Lauren and Kenneth W. Arnold, his sister, Gail Previt and his grandchildren; Bree-Ann and Robert III. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Beverly Ann Arnold in 2010, his son, Christopher G. Arnold in 2011 and his brother, George Arnold. Robert's Life Celebration includes visitation on Sunday, June 22nd from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Prayer Service offered at 3:00pm during the visitation on Sunday also at the Funeral Home. The Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Immediately following the visitation, Friends and neighbors are invited to join the family at the Asbury Fire House from 6-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the family for a future memorial monument to be placed at the Arnold Farm which he loved dearly.
