Obituary of Viola M. Wylie

Viola M. Wylie, age 92, of Mountainside, NJ passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. She was born August 3, 1921 in Newark, NJ and was the daughter of the late Fredlin and Bertha (Brunner) Schmid. Viola (Vi) worked as a secretary for Prudential in Newark and later retired from Baker and Taylor in Bridgewater. Prior to moving to Mountainside, she previously lived in Hobe Sound, Florida, Hampton, NJ and Bridgewater, NJ. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and most importantly visits and pictures of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Diane Barnes of Castle Rock, CO, Patricia L. Wylie of Asbury, NJ and Timothy R. and his wife Paula Wylie, of Frankfort, KY; her dear grandchildren, James, Douglas, Robert, David, Brian and Katie. She also had 9 ½ cherished great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert J. Wylie, her parents, Fredlin and Bertha Schmid, and brother, Fred. Viola's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Monday, June 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a funeral service held 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1st, at the Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ.
