Obituary of Elizabeth W. Scovill

Elizabeth W. Scovill, age 66 of Washington Township, New Jersey died on August 6th . Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday, August 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Hawk Pointe Country Club, 4 Clubhouse Drive, Washington, NJ. For online condolences or for more information, please visit www.martinfh.com Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of Janet Goodman Scovill and Robert Barnard Scovill, Ms. Scovill lived in Claverack, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Short Hills, New Jersey; Chatham New Jersey and Hampton before moving to Washington Township in 2003. Prior to moving to Washington, Ms. Scovill and her husband of 29 years, Thomas J. Prisk, owned and operated Squash Tree Farm, a popular Choose and Cut Christmas Tree farm. Ms. Scovill graduated from Marymount International School in Rome, Italy, in 1964. She graduated from Marymount College in Boca Raton, Florida and Massachusetts State College (Salem) with a degree in business education. She was a Vice President of Public Affairs for Prudential where she worked for 28 years, retiring in 1994 and working as a consultant for Prudential for six years. She earned numerous insurance degrees including FLMI, CLU and ChFC designations. She was also instrumental in promoting the managerial careers of women at Prudential. Ms. Scovill was a member and past president of the North Jersey Literary Guild. An avid golfer, she was a founding member of the Hawk Pointe Golf Club. She was a board member of the Condo and Property Owners Associations. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two step-sons Thomas John Prisk of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and David Allan Prisk of Clinton, New Jersey; and six grandchildren; her brother, Robert Scovill of Waccabuc, New York and sister, Ruth Scovill, of Washington, D.C.
