Obituary of Helen Ruth Kornberger

Helen Ruth Kornberger, age 93, of Phillipsburg, NJ died Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Frenchtown, NJ. Helen was born March 7, 1919 in Lebanon, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Austin and the late Olive (Apgar) Mattis. She resided in Phillipsburg, NJ and San Diego, California. Helen worked at the Clinton Shirt Factory and at one time ran the Holiday Diner in Clinton, NJ. She also worked for a period of time at the Union Gap Restaurant & Bar. Helen loved to dance and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends & family. She is survived by her daughters: Myna Jane Soos of Phillipsburg, NJ, Betty Lee Kornberger of Nazareth, PA., Ruth Ann Beckwith & her Husband, Joe and her sons: Bruce Kornberger of Phillipsburg, NJ, Charles Kornberger of Broadway, NJ, Harry Allen Kornberger & his Wife, Mary of Frenchtown, NJ, and Jacob Kornberger & his wife, Anita of Phoenix, AZ. Additional survivors include her cherished 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Adlor A., her son, Robert R. and her brother, Harold Mattis. All services were entrusted to the Martin Funeral Home of Clinton, NJ and were held privately at the convenience of the family.
