Obituary of Joseph J. Skripko
Joseph J. Skripko, age 70, of Hampton, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Mr. Skripko was born August 16, 1942 in Plainfield, NJ and was the son of the late Joseph G. and the late Helen (Pruchnik) Skripko.
Mr. Skripko worked for Johanna Foods in Flemington for over 31 years before retiring. He was an avid baseball player and was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves in 1960 where he played for two years. He was a Charter Member of the North Hunterdon Hall of Fame. He was also a member of St. Ann's Church in Hampton. Most important, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren at their sporting events.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years: Barbara (Crampton) Skripko; his son: Scott Skripko and his wife Lisa of Milford, NJ, his daughters: Beth Colnett and her husband Darryl of Milford, NJ, Nancy Erikson and her husband Matt of Virginia, Suzanne Appezzato and her husband Kevin of Stewartsville, NJ; his grandchildren: Ashley and Kayla Colnett, Scott, Brianna and Marissa Skripko, Luke Erikson, Anthony and Sarina Appezzato; his sister: Mary Lou Pine and her husband Walter, his brother: Jim Skripko and his wife Maryann, and pre-deceased by his brother, John. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joseph's Life Celebration includes visitation Monday, December 10th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated on Monday, December 10th at 12:00 noon at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 6 Church Street in Hampton, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery on the church grounds.
