Obituary of Jacoba P. Hammond

Jacoba P. Hammond, age 91, of Raritan Township died Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township. Mrs. Hammond was born May 8, 1915 in Medan, Sumatra/Dutch East Indies (Indonesia). She was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Catherina Van den Bok- Fruin. Mrs. Hammond spoke Dutch, French, English & Spanish. She was a homemaker and a caregiver. During her life, she resided on four Continents. She has been living at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Twp., NJ for the past five years. She previously lived in Caracas Venezuela, Georgia, Florida and New York. She was a citizen of the world. She is survived by her daughter: Anita Zarate & her husband, Tony Palmer of Lebanon, NJ; Her Son: Richard Zarate & his wife, Bonnie of Bridgewater, NJ Her Grandsons: Brian & Stephen Zarate; Her Sisters: Catherina Croce of Rhinebeck, NY and Nancy Ness of Holland; Her Niece: Angela Gomez & her Husband, Jose Gomez; Grand-Nephews and grand niece: Mauricio, Roberto and Amelia Gomez. She was pre-deceased by her first husband: Max Zarate in 1992 and her second husband: William Hammond in 1976. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 10:00 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oldwick . Her ashes will be interred in the churchs memorial garden at that time.
