Obituary of Wilford “Bud” Elijah Stanton

Wilford Bud Elijah Stanton of the Pittstown Section of Kingwood Twp., NJ died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mr. Stanton was born in Phillipsburg, NJ the son of the late George Howard Stanton, Jr. and the late Elsie Verna (nee Woolf) Stanton. He was a proud WWII Veteran in the United States Marine Corps (2nd Division) and served from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific and in Japan. Bud was a member and past commander of the American Legion Mecsey-Bishop Post #456. In addition, he was past commander of the Warren County American Legion . A Member of the Hunterdon Hills VFW in Pattenburg, NJ and the 40&8 Club. After WWII, he attended Rutgers Agriculture College. Mr. Stanton resided in the Pittstown Section of Kingwood Twp., NJ for the past 8 years and previous to that, he lived in Stewartsville, NJ. He was employed by H.E.D. Industries in Ringoes, NJ as a Welder and he also was a Farmer - most recently employed by the Leon Sod Farm in Pittstown, NJ He is survived by his beloved Daughter: Candie Stanton of Kingwood Twp., NJ, his Companion of 29 years, Robin Kowalchuk also of Kingwood Twp., NJ; and his Sister, Clesta Cookie Lutzi of Stewarstville, NJ. Additional survivors include, his Grandchildren; Matthew & his Fianc', Terry and Rachel & Nuno, Great-Grandchildren; Tiago & Paulo and his Nephew, Tim Kowalchuk. He was pre-deceased by his Brother: George H. Stanton III in 2003 All services will be conducted privately and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Kingwood Twp.
