Obituary of Josephine L. Chiego

Josephine L. Chiego, 88 Beloved Wife, Mother, and Nana Josephine L. Chiego, 88, died on Sunday, February 11th at Hunterdon Health Care Center in Hunterdon County. She was born in Raritan, New Jersey in 1919 to Dominica and John Santoro. She grew up in Cranford, New Jersey. She was one of seven siblings. She is predeceased by five siblings: Rosemary Mannino, Arnold Santoro, John Santoro,Anthony Santoro, and Anne Novy. Josephine is survived by her brother, Samuel Santoro of Cranford. Surviving her,is her husband of 63 years, Daniel Joseph Chiego, Sr.,and their children, Dr. Daniel Joseph Chiego, Jr., Susan Mary Morris, and her husband, William, and James Anthony Chiego, and his wife, LeeAnn. In addition,she is survived by her two special sisters-in-law, Marie Santoro,and Florence Russo, her brother-in-law, William J. Chiego, Jr.and her aunt, Helen DiGiovanni. She was especially fond of her cousin, Annette Barone and her Godchild, Dr. Marianne DiGiovanni."The Santoro Girls," Nancy Mc Comb, Diane Wineberg, and Georgia Cassidy were her beloved nieces. Josephine was a very accomplished woman having graduated from Katherine Gibbs Business School she spent many happy productive years in the business world and was especially proud of her time spent working for Merck as a medical secretary. She held various management positions in portrait photography, fashion merchandising, and bridal consulting. She was referred to as having, "Golden Hands" for her doll making and children's fashion designs. However, Josephine will be remembered mostly for her love and devotion to her family...And held dearest to her heart, were her six grandchildren: Ryan John Morris, Nicole Leigh Morris, Daniel Joseph Chiego III, Nadia Chiego, Carly Ann Chiego and Julie Marie Chiego. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 16TH at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801 - #908-735-7319 VISITING HOURS: Thursday, February 15TH from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ INTERMENT: Friday, February 16th at the Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton, NJ following the mass.
