Obituary of Harold J. Barks

Harold J. Barks, age 79, of Flemington passed away Friday, April 13, 2007 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Mr. Barks was born October 21, 1927 in New Britain, Connecticut. He was the son of the late Harold and the late Ottile (Hoffman) Barks. He has been living Flemington for the past 20 years. He lived previously in Delaware Twp., NJ. Harold served in the US Army. He was employed by John Manville's in Manville for 30 years until he retired. He went on to work at Shop-Rite in Flemington for over 10 years. Harold was a member of the Moose Lodge in Flemington. He was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid coin collector. He is survived by his wife of over 57yrs: Edith (Sheldon) Barks, two daughters: Annamarie Dilts of Rosetta, PA, Rosemary Kerr of Arkansas and one son: Edward Barks of Flemington, NJ He had 6 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother: Robert of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda and a brother, Fred Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 7:00pm to 9:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761, on Route 31, in Clinton. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at the funeral home with a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Norton Cemetery, Bethlehem Twp.
