Obituary of Anna M Varner

Anna M. Varner, age 88, of Glen Gardner, NJ passed peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  Anna was born April 28, 1931 in Summit, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Ferdinand (Fred) and the late Margaret (DeCelles) Cardone. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel H. Varner in 2001. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Ellen D’Ambly and her husband William of Glen Gardner, NJ: grandchildren Darin and Miranda: her brother Anthony Cardone and his wife JoAnn of New Hampshire, and nieces Kellie and Kerri Cardone of Boston, MA.

Anna is remembered as a kind-hearted, spirited lady with a sharp mind and quick wit.  She always had a twinkle in her eye, and made those she loved feel remarkably special and adored.  Her favorite term of endearment, “Butternut” is something her nieces will always remember being called.

Relatives and friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31 Clinton NJ 08809. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, December 12 , 10:00 am  at St. John Neumann Church, 398 County Road 513, Califon NJ. Cremation will follow privately.
