Obituary of Doris Eleanor Langan

Doris Eleanor Langan, 87, of Annandale, N.J.passed peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2020 surrounded by her family.  Born January 15, 1933 in Irvington, N.J. she is the daughter of the late Charles J. and Madeline (Stoll) Krautwurst.

 

Doris graduated from Irvington High School and was married in 1952 to the late William Joseph Langan. Doris was a member of the Bethlehem Township Seniors, St. Peter's Episcopal church in Washington.  In her younger years Doris was an avid roller skater.   She enjoyed vacationing at Shawnee on the Delaware, the Berkshires in MA, as well as trips to Hawaii, Bahamas, LasVegas, and several cruises.  She always enjoyed visiting the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, and Clinton Red Mill. In her spare time she loved needlework, puzzles, reading and bird watching.

 

Doris always  looked forward to her annual trips to New York City at Christmas time to see the tree and attend the Chrisrtmas Spectaular at Radio City, she loved her Box Seats at the Garden State Art Center where she enjoyed seeing Paul Anka, Liberace Spectacular, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis , Barry Manilow and Dolly Pardon.   As a devoted mother, she drove three daughters to Eleanor Connell School of dance every day, sometimes seven days a week during recitals

 

She is survived by her son Glen W. Langan and his wife Barbara of Yulee, FL;  daughters Patricia A. Haller and her husband Michael of  Plano, TX; Billie Jo Garcia of Annandale NJ; Susi Bech of Clinton, NJ and son Kenneth R. Langan of Asbury, NJ. as well as her brother William Krautwurst  of Salisbury MD and sister Madeline Davala of Hightstown, NJ.  Doris was the devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Thursday January 23, 2020 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. A funeral service will be offered on Friday, January 24th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton NJ.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’s name may be made through IN MEMORY OF, for St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, The American Lung Association or the Blue Army Shrine at www.inmemof.org
