Obituary of Kenneth R Rea

Kenneth R Rea, age 86, of Stewartsville, NJ passed peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Old Orchard Health Care Center in Easton, PA with his beloved family by his side. Ken was born June 1, 1933 in Linden, NJ. He is the son of the late Kenneth M and the late Helen (Gonday) Rea.  He married the love of his life Carolyn Christie Rea on September 20, 1956.   

Ken served in the Air Force from February 24, 1953 to February 23,1957. He and his beloved wife raised their family in Rockaway NJ. He worked for Singer Sewing Machine Company in Denville NJ where he co-patented the Touch and Sew machine.

Ken enjoyed camping, photography and driving the hearse on numerous funerals for the Martin Funeral Home. A devoted family man, he enjoyed spending his time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    

He is survived by his loving wife: Carolyn (Christie) Rea  and four daughters: Phylis McBride of FLorida; Jane Rea and husband Charles Griesheimer of Milford, NJ, Nancy Sampson and husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA. and Barbara Pearson and husband John of Bethlehem, PA. Also surviving are his eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Wednesday March 4th from 9:00 am until 11:00 amat the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A funeral service will be at 11:00 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors, will follow at the Greenwich Cemetery in Stewartsville.
