Obituary of Elaine T. Scheib

Elaine T. Scheib, age 94, of Toms River passed peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgewater, NJ. Elaine was born January 6, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ. She is the daughter of William Fulton and the late Soleda (Alvarez) Fulton .

A graduate of St. Dominic High School in Jersey City, Elaine raised her two daughters, then began her career at The Home Insurance Company. She became an administrative supervisor working more than 20 years in New York City. After moving to the Jersey shore area, she joined the law firm of Campbell, Foley, Lee, Murphy & Cenigliaro, where worked for a dozen years as a secretary in the Asbury Park firm. She retired from the firm, but always active, organized and compassionate, Elaine volunteered for many years, until the age of 92, in Ocean County Community Hospital, supporting the work of the Nurses' Education department.

Elaine was very handy and creative. She enjoyed crafts and was a talented wood worker, excellent knitter, superb cook, enthusiastic board game player and most important, the ultimate fan / supporter of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her enthusiasm was evident at every holiday, sporting event and vacation, often taking the form of colorful hand- crafted posters accompanied by energetic, vocal encouragement.

She is survived by two daughters: Diane Farrell and husband Frank of Independence, NJ and Barbara Roscus and husband Frank of Lebanon, NJ,; Also survived by Grandson, Mark Roscus and wife Lindsay and great grandson, Logan and Granddaughter, Lauren Mandell and husband Joel; and great granddaughters Avery and Braelyn.

All services will be held privately at this time. The family will hold memorial services at a later date. Those who wish may visit Elaine at her final resting place at the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum after Wednesday April 8th.
