Obituary of Joan (Bevan) Hahola

Joan Hahola, 87, formerly of Pittstown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA. Joan was born on February 23, 1933 in Plainfield, NJ. She is the Daughter of the late Edward H. and the late Emma (Diem) Bevan. She was predeceased by her beloved Husband, Elmer F. Hahola, Sr.

 

Joan was a Graduate of Dunellen High School and the Somerville Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (R.N.). She worked for many years as a Head Nurse of the Emergency Department at Somerville Hospital (now RWJ Somerset Medical Center), and most recently as a Registered Nurse at Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ. Joan was a member of the New Jersey Nurses Association (NJNA). She was a former member of the Quakertown Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Baptistown, NJ. She enjoyed exceeding in her roles as a Mother and Grandmother. Her Grandchildren were her World. She was well-known for her expertise in cooking and baking, especially her "Famous" Chocolate Chip Cookies. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was a Member of the KnitWits of North Warren. Joan had a loving passion for taking care of anything and everything from her Family to her patients with all of her heart and soul.

 

She is survived by her beloved Daughter and Best Friend, Margaret (Maggie), and her cherished Sons: Elmer F., Jr. (Buddy) & his wife Lori, Edward (Ed), and James (Jay); Grandchildren Devon and Tyler; and her sister Doris Jean. In addition to her Parents, Joan was predeceased by her Brothers: Edward, Lawrence, Bruce, Jefferey, and Sisters: Harriet, Virginia, and Dorothy. Joan embodied Love and Caring each and every day of her Life.

 

A Celebration of Life will be planned by the Family later in the Summer. All arrangements are under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton NJ. Those who wish may send condolences to the Family at www.martinfh.com
