only had her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, but also all of the neighbors and their children called her Nana.
I remember for as far back as I can remember coming over to Nana's house and walking in to be greeted with HELLO, HELLO, HELLO, Mommom would be sitting at the table drinking her coffee and we were told to sit down and she would run around the kitchen, go into the top of her stove and get out her stash of sugar filled cereals, Count Chocula, Booberry, and Frankenberry. Before we would leave, we all had to gather infront of the fire place to get our pictures taken.
As family reunions, holidays, birthdays, and any other gathering or occasion took place, we could always count on Nana to "Capture the moment," at times we would say, "oh no, not another picture," but we would all gather, put on a happy face because we all knew how important the pictures were to her. Thanks to Nana we have THOUSANDS of memories.
For years the Grandkids would mow Nana's lawn, sometimes we were to small to push the mower by ourselves so there would be two of us at a time pushing the mower to get Nana's lawn mowed. Nana's house was the place to be and believe it or not she NEVER got tired of us all being over there for hours on end!
Nana's car!!! What to say about Nana's car, she was always on the go, heading to seniors meetings, up to the municipal building to fight some political fiasco going on in the state or township. Going out to breakfast, lunch, and dinner with friends family and loved ones to the Wayfarer, Spinning wheel, Chalet, and Howard Johnson's. I remember Nana driving to Trenton to the state building to fight some bill that her not so favorite Governor, Christy Todd Whitman was attempting to propose. Everyone knows the sticker Nana had on her car "HEY CHRISTY, PROSECUTE DRUG DEALERS NOT TROOPERS!"
Grass would never grow under her feet because she was always on the go! She loved the township police due to her son's Joe and Dan and she also loved the NJ State Police due to her son-in-laws Tom and Bill. However, we all remember the few times Nana was flying down route 78 and 22 and one of NJ's finest pulled her over. Although Nan was embarrassed, she would tell us all laughing about how she got pulled over, NO, she never got a ticket.
Nana was the energizer bunny, she just kept going, and going, and going!
Nan, you are and will be missed so much!! I love you and thank you for all of the great memories and your support of me and our Military Service Members serving our beautiful Nation!

Some loving memories of Libby “Nana” Biel:
Nana’s softer side came through as she tenderly held her new great grandbabies, connecting with them instantly as they smiled up at her. I remember her holding my little Sara, with her long eyelashes, dripping with tears, talking to her and rocking her until she was settled again. It took seeing her with my baby to realize what a nurturing woman Nana could be.
Nana made sure her grand kids and great grandkids never did without. Even up to this last Christmas, Nana would always stick some amount of money in an envelope and say, “go out and get those girls something nice,” regardless of what she herself had. Nana was always so generous my girls and I, and so encouraging to my husband. There never was and never will be anyone quite like her.
Nana was a Norwegian to the core. I know that my Mom’s and my Sisters and my own strength as women, and my daughters’ strength comes directly from the legacy and model that Nana Biel left. No one can argue the fact that Nana could “Come out Swinging” when she believed in something, and was brave enough to speak her mind even if it was controversial…but in Norway they have a legend, and it is this, the only way to get to Valhalla, or Heaven, is if you die fighting. Lisa Beil lived and breathed this and even in her fatal illness, I know that my Nana fought ‘til her last breath, and they gave her a Vikings welcome up there in Heaven. May God Bless her.

Mrs. Biel will be sorely missed. Just seeing her
drive by in her car and give
a wave brought a smile to my
face. It will take time to heal the sadness that will be felt as i drive by her home!
I wish I would have had more cups of coffee! I am so sorry for the great loss!
What a LADY!

Libby was the Matriarch of the Mountain, a pillar of the community, everybody's grandmother (or mother). She will be sorely missed by everyone, including the Weeks family. She will certainly be remembered, may she rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

Libby will be missed by so many. She was more than a great neighbor -- she was a friend and like a mom and grandmother to our family. We count ourselves blessed to have had nearly 10 short years with her. Our love and prayers go to her family at this sad time. Love, Cindi, Charlie, Amanda & Eric

I will always remember Mrs. Biel as a caring and thoughtful woman. She was stong in her convictions and loyal to those she loved. She went out of her way to make everyone she met feel as if they were special and their ideas mattered, even if she didn't agree with them. When my son was in the first Gulf War, she wrote to him regularly. I know he was touched just knowing that she thought of him. She will be missed.
