Obituary of Patricia M Mahoney

Patricia M "Patty" (née Jaheriss) Mahoney of Bedminster, NJ, formerly of Washington Borough, NJ passed peacefully at home on May 12th after a long illness.

Born in Livingston, Patty was an alumnus of EOCH where she met and fell in love with her future husband, John. She graduated from Montclair State University with a teaching degree. Over the course of the next 40 years, Patty was a full-time homemaker and dedicated mom to her four children. Later, she worked as an aid and teacher to children with special needs at schools in High Bridge and Cedar Knolls, NJ. Children were her joy and purpose in life. She cared deeply for and was loved deeply by those she touched. Patty also treasured her Lord and gave of herself compassionately, volunteering in several ministries at St. Mary's School, St Ann's Catholic Church, and Special Olympics.

Patty is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Harriet Jaheriss, her brother, Richard Jaheriss, and her daughter Kathleen Marie. Patty is survived by her husband, John, her daughter Lauren, her sons, Dan, Tim, and John Paul, her daughters-in-law, Cassie and Lindsay, her loving sister, Jean, and Jean's husband, John Zaneski. She had many beloved nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. She will welcome her first grandchild from heaven this summer.

Arrangements are private under the care of Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered through live streaming, on the Facebook page for St. Ann's Church, Hampton NJ on Saturday May 16th at 11:00 am. Interment is private. A memorial celebration of Patty's life will be announced after restrictions are lifted.
