Obituary of Dorothy C. Irons

Dorothy C. Irons, age 80, of Clinton, NJ died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus in Dover, NJ. Mrs. Irons was born April 30, 1927 in Camden, NJ the daughter of the late William P. and the late Ethel (nee Maltby) Campbell. She was a Secretary to the Superintendent for the Edna Mahon Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ for many years before retiring. Prior to her employment at the Correctional Facility she worked as a Secretary for many local Hunterdon County Doctors and Attorneys. She resided in Clinton, NJ for more than 45 years. Dorothy enjoyed family and friends, knitting, reading, and summers at the Jersey shore. Dorothy was a proud participant in the community. She was a Cub/Brownie/Girl Scout leader, president of the PTA, member of the Democratic committee, and an elected Elder of the Clinton Presbyterian Church. During the summer, Dorothy had managed the Beachcomber Motel resort in Avalon, NJ. She is survived by her devoted Daughter: Allyson C. Irons of Clinton, NJ, her Sons: Corey A. Irons of Effort, Pa. and Gordon W. Irons of Bridgeton, NJ. She was known to her Grandchildren: Corey Anne, Emily, Grace and Kyle as "Bucca". Mrs. Irons was pre-deceased by her Husband: Allan William Irons in 1971 and her Brother: William P. Campbell (died Earlier) Visiting Hours will be on Friday August 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, August 18th at 11:30 am at the Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, NJ - #(856)-829-3553. The Funeral Home will open at 9:00 am on Saturday for those who wish to join the procession to Cinnaminson, NJ. Interment will take place in the Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ on Saturday at 11:30 am.
