Mr. Lance was my first employer after high school in 1967-68. I worked for him until 1980, and what an opportunity it was. He was a teacher above all else. He always wanted to make sure that every day was a learning experience. He took me to court with him, to the State House to meet then-Governor Richard Hughes; and he involved me in every aspect of his life including his family, the running of his office, his political endeavors, and his beloved Tri-County Baseball League. It was an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life. He was one of a kind. His death is a tremendous loss to all of us who knew him, but his life was an inspiration. He will always be remembered by me with fondness and appreciation for all that he did for me.

Wes was best man in our Uncle and Aunt's wedding, Mr. & Mrs. Theo.Hopler. Wes was so kind and helpful after our Aunt, Mildred Hopler, passed away. He was an amazing person and as we learned working with him a very organized person with a fantastic memory attending to so many details with many appropriate suggestions and solutions. He will be missed. We all are so fortunate to have gotten to know him. He would even call after the estate was settled to see how we all were doing. God Bless! Ron & Barbara Shaw

Joan and I extend our sincere condolences to Wesley L. Lance’s family upon the death of their father and grandfather. We did not know him personally except for his time as school board attorney (NHRHS District), and the few times he and I spoke on the radio about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War when I was high school history teacher. I was fortunate to have his twin sons as high school students, and my wife, knew the grandchildren that attended Voorhees High School.

My first full-time job, 20 years ago, was as a secretary for Mr. Lance and his son, Jim. Oh, how he loved to dictate a letter, as I wrote in shorthand. I'm so sad to hear of his passing, but so happy to have had the privilege of working with him. He was so kind. My prayers are with you & your family. Love Shannon

Bruce and Genevieve Sliker posted a condolence
Please except our heartfelt condolences on the passing of Wes. We both had the honor of serving on the Township Committee while Wes was Lebanon Township's Attorney. He was helpful to us and his professional advice was greatly appreciated. There are many stories that we could tell about, while serving on the Township Committee during our terms of office. We're sorry that we won't be able to attend his services due to previous commitments.
Thoughtfully,
Bruce and Genevieve Sliker

I came back from service in
Viet Nam in 1970 and left Newark for a job in Flemington
with attorney Italo Tarantola.I soon met Senator Lance who welcomed me into the
small legal community, took
a liking to me and referred some cases. We continued to enjoy a good relationship over the years. He was an astute attorney and a true
gentleman.

Dear Wesley, You were my attorney(at age 87) and sharper than most. You were my friend who always gave me the best advice. You were also my teacher. When I came to your office about legal matters, we would conduct business and then I would settle in and enjoy many stories from your baseball years to your government service. What an ethical, honest, and caring person you were! My prayers to your family.
