My family lived across the street from Bill's family in St. Louis. Although I am two years older, my younger sister, Corinne and I spent many an hour playing with Bill and his sister Judy. I remember games of hide and seek on summer evenings, forts, snowball "fights" and sledding in the winter, bike rides and climbing trees in the spring, and raking leaves and toasting marshmallows over the fire in the fall. Bill was always very good-natured and fun. I am sorry to hear that he is gone, but I know he left many fond memories to all those who knew him, and that his life was well lived. He was that kind of man.
My husband also knew Bill during our growing up days at school. They liked and respected each other as schoolmates and Boy Scouts. We both send our deep felt condolences to his family.
Sincerely, JACQUELINE ROBINSON MASON
