Peggy could always be found in the middle of hard work - in her garden - maintaining the trails with the Hunterdon Hiking Club or working on numerous committees with our club and the many other organizations to which she contributed her time and energy.
She could also be found in the middle of fun with friends as seen in these pictures.
During these last few months we are grateful to Jeff and Christal who kept Peggy safe with love and attention - all the while allowing friends to visit. Watching Peggy with her niece Mallory, granddaughter Sarah and great-grandson Joshua was a joy.
Our friendship with Peggy and Bill is a treasure for which we are forever grateful. The darkness is over - Dawn has come.
Lovingly, Lynn and Geoff

My sincere sympathy to Peggy's family.
I feel privileged to have had Peggy as a friend. We shared many trips & adventures over the past few years- kayaking in the Adirondacks and low country of S.Carolina, hiking & skiing in the Adirondacks & Poconos, exploring the Ozarks, and walking the trails of Hunterdon. Peggy was ready for new adventures. She was an inspiration to all of us during her life and through the struggles of her illness. I miss sharing our love for the outdoors and its creatures (the hummingbirds, butterflies) and our everyday life. "Bye for now", my dear friend. Pam

So many memories of this amazing lady!
On local hikes and hiking trips out west , on the history walks in Philadelphia we co- led with Husband Bill driving, on the many museum trips in NYC , Philadelphia and locally, at hiking club parties. Special memories of the kayaking we did. Peggy taught me to Kayak and was always my mentor, patiently encouraging me to try a new kayaking site I worried might be too difficult for me. Many Mondays loading our kayaks into her truck...she could tie 6 kayaks into the back of a pickup truck, and drive sometimes many miles to a lake. Shortly before she became ill she joined a few other hikers on a scavenger hunt in New Hope , a benefit for my son’s school. We had so much fun!
Dear friend, you are missed so much!!

I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. I was a longtime member of the HHC until I left NJ for Virginia 18 years ago. Many, many hours were spent hiking with Peggy and Bill over the years with the HHC and traveling with that same group. Time is marching on and we are all experiencing this sadness. I would like to extend my condolences to her children other loved ones. Peg was a delight and I so loved it when I discovered she would be on a particular hike. Rest in Peace, my friend.

One of the sweetest, kindest people we've ever known. Her giving personality shown through everything she did -- whether helping AP Thru-Hikers get a hot meal or giving encouragement to push on, planning hikes like the fun filled Shenandoah trips, organizing kayak outings and helping us all get there toting kayaks in her pickup, teaching us all about flowers and nature, sharing the fruits of her garden and just putting a smile on your face. So grateful to have known Peggy and called her friend. Rest in peace dear friend. Rita & Ed Koch
