Frank was a True Friend. From our days at Ethicon..he always had that smile an wanted to chat. He took me to my first and only World Series game Phillies and KC. During the hockey season from back in the 70"s until I moved to Georgia in 1992 we went to countless number of Ranger Games. Last time I had dinner with him was in 2018 when I visited NJ. Although we have had much contact lately just knowing he passed breaks my heart.

What a sad time this is for all that knew Frank! Frank was such a great guy and we were blessed to have called him our friend. His passion for life was contagious. He was always going somewhere or seeing someone. There was not a time that we talked to him that he didn't tell a joke to end the conversation. His family and friends meant the world to him and this world was a much better place with him in it! Our thoughts and prayers are with all who loved him!

Many people might not know it but for some reason back in the day, Hampton was a Mecca for bands & musicians. From the Harbors to the Hudson's and many more family based bands, Hampton was it. My first group originated at the Bestrain's family house in town with Doug & Peggy on sax and accordion. Frank was our guitarist. He was a solid musician with a big heart and gentle soul. He could take it and give it out just as much with a great sense of humor. A huge Beatles fan and a wiz on any sports trivia. He was an icon of that era and a true friend to many. He will be missed.

We were fortunate to have had Frankie as a neighbor and friend for more than 45 years. The night we moved to Hampton, Frankie was there to welcome us and help unload the moving truck. This was the first of countless times he was there with help, advice, and support. Frankie's humor, good nature and optimism were such that even a brief encounter brightened one's outlook. He was truly, in every sense of the word, a gentleman. We share the sadness of his family and his many friends. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

I will never ever forget your laugh, or how kind you were, or how comforting it was just to see you. I’ll miss you every time I go to where we were and you aren’t there. I’m blessed to have been able to be in your presence the past few years. You’ll be missed. But always remembered.

From Sirach 6:5-17, "A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds it finds a treasure."
Frank sure fit that description, as far back as pre-kindergarten.

I'm so glad that I had the privilege of staying with cousin Frankie for a few days in 2019. While staying with him, we met many of his fine friends from Hampton and hung out at some of his favorite places. He cared deeply for all of his dear friends and was kind to all he met. Hampton lost one of its finest treasures with the passing of Frankie Zanks. Though I lived far apart in Idaho, I have fond memories of Frankie through a few visits, mail, and phone calls. I will miss those phone calls where we discussed important things like his Butler and Zanks family, friends, The Beatles, cigars, St. Johns, and the BSU Broncos. In his words he will be, "All right, all right, all right!" I know he is climbing the Stairway to Heaven and will be reunited with his Mom, Dad, and Sister.
Love ya Frankie,
Mandie Zanks Snow

Our beloved friend neighbor will be missed by the whole Newland family . His big heart and infectious laugh , and generosity to all were what will be remembered by all. We shared many dinners, picnics around our table with Frank. and family. He encouraged us to buy the house 2 doors down from him. The memories of those days will be our hearts and minds forever. Frank and my husband Allan, worked at Ethicon for years together. The pranks they pulled on each other were always hilarious and memorable. We will miss that laugh and all he shared with us. In our next life together our friend we will share those again. Much Love the Newland family, Al, Diane, Duane & Heather.

Frank was a wonderful colleague over the many years that we worked together at Ethicon. I am saddened and surprised by his passing and he will be missed by so many. Frank always had a good word, or joke, to share, and just his laugh could make you double over in laughter yourself.
Gone too soon Frank and I pray that I will see you once again in Paradise!
Love,
Laura Jackson
