Dr. Arthur Aneckstein

Obituary of Dr. Arthur George Aneckstein

Dr. Arthur George Aneckstein, age 86, of Easton, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus. Arthur was born on June 13, 1935, in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late Morris W. Aneckstein and the late Anne (Shangold) Aneckstein.

Arthur served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia  and Tulane University Medical School, and then went on to work as a physician in Edison, NJ.  His second career was as a substitute teacher for Perth Amboy’s school system, the town he loved. Arthur married his beloved wife, Mary Jane Young, on November 19, 1980. He was a  dedicated husband, loving father, and proud grandfather.

Arthur loved the open road. One of his fondest memories to share was of the drive he took to  California to visit his son, Benjamin, who would go on to follow in his father’s footsteps in his  love for the open road as well. Arthur was an enthusiast of diners, motorcycles and baseball,  being a connoisseur for knowledge of the game. Wanted to know who made the game-winning  play in the 1952 World Series? He was your guy to get the answer! Arthur was an ardent reader of history and had a love for film (Shane was his favorite). Although he was well traveled, Perth  Amboy always held a special place in his heart, no matter where he was.

Arthur will be forever missed by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Young) Aneckstein; sons, Benjamin M. Aneckstein, Kenneth S. Aneckstein, James T. Aneckstein; and his grandson.

He is predeceased by his parents, Morris Aneckstein and Anne Aneckstein.
