Obituary of Irene M. Carey

Irene M. Carey, age 88, of Hampton, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ. Mrs. Carey was born November 3, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Stryjewski. Mrs. Carey worked as an item files Librarian for Education Testing Service in Princeton for 20 years before retiring. She has been living in Hampton for the past 15 years and was previously from Branchburg. Her hobbies included needle-point, crocheting and knitting. She was at one time active with the Lyon's Veteran's Hospital where she made afghans for the veterans. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved daughter: Lynn Biribauer and her husband Richard of Hampton, NJ . Her sister: Ann Lasiewski of Kearny, NJ and her brother: Stephen Stryjewski and his wife Carole of Florida. Her loving grandchildren: James, David and Tia Renee. Her husband James Carey passed awy in 1999. She was also predeceased by two Brothers and one Sister. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, December 2nd from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31 in Clinton. There will be Service on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 3rd, at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 12 noon for those wishing to follow.
