Obituary of Frances Irene Milak

On September 17, 2021 Frances Irene Milak of Phillipsburg, New Jersey passed away peacefully at Hunterdon Medical Center after a brief illness. Frances was born August 20, 1932 to parents Amos and Alice Zellers in Branchville, New Jersey, and married William Milak in 1950. Together they raised a family in Franklin, New Jersey, where she resided in the same home for over 64 years.

Throughout her life she enjoyed quilting, knitting, and crocheting and would share her creations with many. Over several years, she donated hundreds of handmade lap quilts to local nursing and veteran’s homes and hats to cancer patients and babies staying in NICU units. Frances was also a woman of strong Presbyterian faith. 

Frances is survived by her daughter Stacy Wrba and her husband Joseph, daughter Teresa Monell and her late husband Bruce, daughter Jane Mason and her husband Marty, Son William Milak and his wife Laura, Brother Donald Zellers, great-grandson Dylan Weller, and 10 grandchildren. 

Frances is predeceased by her beloved husband William Milak, sisters Alice “Peg” Williams and Mildred Goss, brothers Amos “Bud” Zellers, Robert Zellers, and Ernest Zellers, and her parents Amos Zellers and Alice Terhune. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Frances’ name be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation, 7151 North Main Street Suite 2, Clarkston, Michigan 48346. 

At this time all funeral services will be held in private at the request of the family.
