Tom, You and Marilyn were my first bosses at McGraw Hill who stood by me and encouraged me. You were funny, honest, fair and did I say funny? No business trip was complete without you. Thank you for helping me get started and teaching me the importance of risk and the value of always being honest. Bless you brother.

Remembering some late nights of poker at the golf club after Friday scrambles where we were asked to shut the lights. Although I lost most of the time the laughter and conversation was always worth it. Appropriately and a little strange maybe how my last memory is not a card game but winning the closer tournament with Tom on my team
making some crazy putts. Many thoughts and prayers for Tom and his family.

Although I did not know Mr. Tully, I was the shop teacher at High Bridge Middle School, and taught his children. My mother-in-law, Betty Roll, is having her services at Martins on Sunday, and I recognized the name. Thoughts and prayers to all the Tully family.

You were one of the most remarkable men I have ever come across. How you knew everyones cards at the poker table baffled me. Always enjoyed being paired up with you every friday night because you really were a pleasure to be around and listen to all your stories. Thanks Tom

I lived in High Bridge for 14 years and Tom's children and mine grow up attending the same schools and although I knew Tom I never really got to know what a great guy he was until playing golf with him at High Bridge. He had a good sense of humor and never let things bother him. Although I now live in Florida, I will miss him and I'm thankful for having known Tom. May he be in a place with good fairways and true greens. Rest in peace Tom.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tom for the last 5 years from the High Bridge Hills Golf Association. I help run some of the tournaments, and got to know Tom from his unique humor and his ability to be a pain in the ass. Of course, when I told him that, he would always laugh at me and say something like, “Well, that’s what I’m here for!”
One of my fondest memories is playing the Buick Scramble in 2004 with Tom. Getting off to a rough start, our team was down early. Tom putted like a madman that day, usually going first and either sinking it or giving us a good line. We rallied strong to finish in a 3 way tie for first. On the one hole playoff, Tom is on the green waiting for the other team to putt out. Over my shoulder, I hear, “Mike, I gotta go to the bathroom”. “Can’t you hold it?” I said. “I really don’t think so,” Tom replied and took off with the cart (and my clubs). Since all the teams tied, we were going to play the next hole as a playoff, but ended up having a “chip-off” since we had to go gather Tom from the clubhouse. Since the short game was our best strength, we ended up winning that day, thanks to a strong team effort, Tom’s good putting, and most importantly, his impatient bladder!
When he was sick, he could be a pretty slow player, but he was never mean, never down on himself or others. Although I don’t think I understood it at the time, I have come to admire his drive to get out and play golf with us instead of sitting around in a hospital. I would like to think that he went out on his own terms, and that is something to be proud of.
I will miss sitting under the tent with him after tournaments and after the Friday Night Scramble. He always had a good story, always had the cards out, and was always able to get me in some kind of sucker bet. He will be missed.

I met Tom Tully 20 years ago when the train used to run from Phillipsburg to Newark. He was one of the funniest people I ever met and made the commute for me a lot of fun(as I was new to commuting to Newark, then onto New York) and gave me a lot of "commuting pointers" as I didn't know anyone. He was truly one of a kind. I gave up commuting a long time ago, but I will never forget Tom Tully. He was a gem of man. My deepest sympathies to his family.

I met Tom during my tenure at McGraw-Hill. He was one of the smartest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. We became friends and he joined me and 22 other avid golfers at Myrtle Beach each year for about four years until he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was the life of the party and his company was enjoyed by all. His presence has been missed and will now be missed even more.
From me and all the Myrtle Beach golfers who knew and loved him - "God speed Tom. Heaven has just received an amazing addition in you. we know your voice will be prominent across all the courses of the Big Golf Game"

It was my pleasure and honor to work with Tom for four years on the MTAC service improvement team. He was, indeed, quite a character -- and a wonderful human being that one cannot easily forget. Whether hard at work or socializing, I have a lot of wonderful memories of Tom. He was a great leader and a wonderful friend. Jo ann

I first met Tom when I was hired by Jack Murphy of McGraw-Hill in 1979. As my career grew into Advanced Manufacturing and Estimating, and then Graphic Arts Technology,Desktop Publishing and Interactive Media, I could always count on Tom to give me straight, no nonsense direction and advice. After my days at M-H ended and I grew my own printing and mailing business, it was my time spend in Tom's department that laid the groundwork for my successes in the mailing portion of the business.
At a recent postal meeting under USPS auspices, I ran into Ted Friedman, Tom's right hand distribution guy and was sorry to hear of Tom's passing...a great, to be missed.
